You’ve probably seen other teams that have been sponsored by a local company- you’ll know them because they all wear some company’s logo on their uniforms or equipment. Did you know that the company is paying pretty much of all their paintball costs?
Heck, many of these companies are even paying for them to have the best guns and coolest uniforms.
Yes!! Could you just imagine being able to play as much as you want? With the best equipment… And never have to worry about how you’re going to afford it?
Do You Wonder How They Get Sponsors?
It used to bug the heck out of me trying to figure out how all these teams were getting sponsors to pay for everything for them.
Heck, some of them even got some pretty badass uniforms bought for them. I would constantly be imagining the kind of uniform our team would have.
But it wasn’t even just the free stuff they had. It also seemed like the teams with the sponsorship were always better for some reason. Maybe because they could practice more. Or maybe because they were just extra confident. I admit I was pretty jealous.
We would even ask the teams how they got sponsors and they’d usually give some crappy answer like “just ask.”
Duh! Don’t you think we tried that?
My team tried a bunch of times to ask some pizza parlors, bagel shops, auto mechanics, and real estate agents. But none of them seemed interested.
Are You Making The Same Mistake?
Everyone was always telling me how eager these companies are to sponsor teams. They would say how in this economy sponsorship is one of the most cost-effective ways for a local business to advertise itself. And it made total sense.
The cost of paint balls and equipment is nothing for a business. Especially since we would be promoting them all over the place. Plus all of our family and friends would hear about their business. It would definitely be worth it for them. I just couldn’t understand why no one was saying yes.
Luckily I finally had the sense to ask my uncle. He’s a business man himself, and I don’t know why I didn’t think of it sooner. He works for a big company that wouldn’t be interested in sponsoring a team… but he sat down with me and explained what I needed to do to find a local sponsor.
And boy was I doing it wrong!!!
The Almost-Magic Letter
My uncle’s a very successful salesman. My dad used to say “he could sell a blind man a mirror.” And now I got to see firsthand just how good he was.
He sat down with me for about two hours. He told me this specific plan to use when I contacted the different businesses. He even told me subtle ways to seem more professional and responsible.
After giving me specific details about how to contact them and how to correctly answer any questions that they would have about my team…. He created magic!!!

My friends and I have been paintballing for years now. We live in Cheney, KS and need sponsorships in order to go big. Hey, Team Notoriety is a team that supports the paintball community and the local community, we have a policy of playing our best, working our hardest, and we will have a much greater time playing than most teams. We are a serious group of players that look at each other as family, We are currently engaged ion the CFOA 3-Man series in Georgia, and are ranking fairly high in the last tournaments, all of our players are equiped very well, but i believe they need that extra push from there captain and a sponsor to totally dedicate them to the sport.

hello. im looking to get a sponsor from you. i dont have a team just regular guys that go and play for the fun of paintball. me and a couple of friends go to Jungle Island to play at least once a month. and i take my 5th wheel to go ride quads at least once a month for four-seven days. we can put a giant sticker to the back of out 32 foot trailer. we go to major places like Glamis, Pismo beach, and many other places! please consider us and thank you for your time.
